  • Terrible…

    I’m a terrible blogger.

    There. I’ve said it.

Has it really been 5 months since my last entry? Yes.

Like I said… terrible! I’m not sure how people do this every week, or heck, every day. It must boil down to different schedules, priorities and actually having something of interest to share with the world. My life would never be picked for a reality TV show…. but thank goodness.

In other news, I’ve had a small show going for the last 2 months at MOCHA, a coffee shop, on FEFC campus. If you’re in the area, stop by and take a look at my work while enjoying some hot coffee and a sandwich.

Anyway, there are some new photos on the site as well.  Enjoy browsing and maybe I’ll be back on here again before another 5 months pass!

    Have a great day.

  • Busy little bee

It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to sit down and write a new post, much longer than I had hoped.

School is about to be back in session for kids all over the country. The summer is over and I’m thinking of all the expectations I placed on myself months ago.  “I’m going to exercise every other day”, “I’m going to keep the house clean”, “I’m going to put my office back together down the hall so I’ve got a place to work”, “I’m going to be SuperMom for my little girl & AwesomeWife for my husband”.  Well, those things didn’t exactly happen.

Ah, the best-laid schemes of mice & men(or myself) oft go astray.

Some things I can say though… There are plenty of photos that will shortly be up on the site for your viewing pleasure. I’ve got more focused, clear ideas for my photos & other projects than I had before the summer began. I do exercise twice a week with hopes of increasing that to at least 4 in the next 2 weeks. The house is still a mess, but that probably won’t ever change. But best of all, I’ve got a happy little girl at home who is actually sleeping through the night as of this past week. So many possibilities when not completely exhausted.

    Mama & Em

On that note, time to get back to the grind of sippy cups, umbrella strollers, dirty dishes and new wide-angle lenses.

  • Photos on display

We’ve been going to FEFC (First Evangelical Free Church) since January and I’m quite happy about that fact.  Something I love about the church is their artist community.  This summer from June 2nd through mid-August they will be featuring work from artists in the congregation. This past Sunday I just happened to notice the announcement in the bulletin about submitting work for display.  I’m excited to say that three of my pieces were accepted and will be hanging in the gallery this summer for the viewing pleasure off all.

    Happy Day!

To see my work hanging, or to just check out a really great church, come on down for a visit.

  • All is well.

It’s peaceful now. It’s quiet. At the moment I’m sitting on my couch and the only sound to be heard is the clicking of the keys under my fingers.  Sweet girl is finally asleep for her afternoon nap. The video monitor is on and looking down into her crib and I can see the slow rising of her back with each breath she takes. I love technology. All I need now is a cup of some warm, sweet tasting liquid and all will be perfect… perfect for the moment, anyway. Soon enough will come the sounds of stirring and then increasingly loud cries from a little girl ready to get back out into the world.

As any parent knows, naptime flies by quickly.  Therefore, I think I’ll stop typing now and get a few things done before that happens. At the very least, pour myself that cup of something to enjoy.

You know, I think one of the hardest things about writing a blog is the first post. What do I say? What should I write about?  Should it be more professional, personal or a little bit of both? What kind of audience am I trying to reach? Or is this just something for me to use as a tool to clear my head? These are all questions that will eventually be answered in time.  That’s good enough for now…
